Learning Line

Through the last 20 years I have had many chances to learn new skills, with many options to learn many more.
The first non institutionalized skills that I picked up were from work experience, which led into paid retail work. I had the chance again at college to gain work experience in the IT field, and although this did not lead anywhere I did gain industry experience.

From university, I have learnt many new skills, many from joining the American Football team. Being part of a team has taught me many things, and I have recently had the chance to expand my skills by being appointed assistant coach with the team.

SWOT analysis

Swot Analysis

Strengths
I have good knowledge of using the internet to find resources.
I also have a wide range of skills when it comes to using basic software such as word, PowerPoint and keynote – as well as more advanced software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Flash and some entry level skills with modeling software such as 3dsMax.
I also am confident with doing presentations, and I can prepare and give presentations without any problems at all

Weaknesses
My weaknesses include not being overly comfortable working in groups. I find it harder to manage time and to arrange meetings with other people.
Also, I am easily distracted, and can often be completely removed from the task required.

Opportunities
I have the opportunity to increase my knowledge of current software I am familiar with, and I also have the chance to learn about new software which I have never used before.
Also, I will learn about how I can enhance my skills and learning practices, hopefully becoming more focused on tasks set.

Threats
Threats to me come from my time management skills, and also my problems with asking for help, as I prefer to work solo versus ask for help.
Finally, I struggle to learn new languages, including scripting languages, such as php, basic and java.
